The ancient Hebrew Bath is a bath used for the ritual of purification by Hebrews in Siracusa back in the Byzantine period of the Roman Empire (circa 300 AD). This period marks the beginning of the transition of the Roman Empire from Paganism to Christianity and ergo increased tolerance of Judaism.

Can we see the Baths?
Of course, guests of the Residence Alla Giudecca may visit the baths and tours are available in English and Italian, also to non-guests. No photographs may be taken however.
